Business Planning - Other

In addition to formal business plans (see "Business Plans" tab), BBA sometimes works with its clients on a number of other areas of business planning.

Some of these are highlighted below. They are often quick and informal and in the form of drafts.

Problem: Two clients wanted to set up an SPV for a business opportunity.

Solution: A basic business plan outline with illustrations was put together as a working document. This is an early draft.

Problem: The client wanted to determine their partners business priorities.

Solution: A basic form was put together for the client to help them identify the key areas they should focus on with respect to business development by having the partner identify and rank their own priorities on a 1-to-5 scale.

This is a blank version of the form.

Problem: An investor was interested in how to enter the European market to sell MSW coal to power plants. The decision was made to set up a new research and development facility for the subject municipal solid waste (MSW) coal replacement technology in the Czech Republic at an energy-focused university. There was a need to look at the following key areas, identify the responsible parties and track progress on achieving the identified goals.

  • Preliminary Definition of Project / Scope / Agreement

  • Identify Key Partners

  • Legal Documents Related to the Project

  • Accounting & Banking

  • Preliminary MSW Europe Marketing Research

Solution: See the linked set of MS Word charts. (These were preliminary working documents.)

Investment Summary Sheets (see below for links)

Problem: There were two separate but related investments into bamboo plantations. The links are to the  preliminary in-house Executive Summaries prepared for an investment company looking to lead the investment into both companies.

One company (ECTC) was going to involve a local farm cooperative, the other was for the use of reclaimed mining land, a huge problem in South Africa. (click on logos)

One was for NEWCO - EASTERN CAPE TORREFIED COAL (an export company) - raise $10 million.

The other company was MINES NEWCO -  MINES TORREFIED COAL (an export company), which involved a series of modular investments (each plant would cost $20 million) and a total estimated 100 plants could be build as part of meeting South African mine remediation needs.

Solution: By clicking on the above logos, you can read the related Executive Summaries of the related business plans. For the Mines, there is a basic financial projection.
